History of Pack 9

Pack 9 Members, please visit and sign our new guest book.
 

The annual Pack 9 Pinewood Derby will be held at St Mark on Saturday, January 28^th. Registration will begin a 3:30 pm and the races should start around 5:00 PM.  There will be first, second, and third place medals for Tigers, Wolfs, Bears, and Webelos. There will be Trophies for the overall first, second, and third place winners.  We will also have prizes for the following categories:
     1. Best car built by a boy
     2. Best car built by a boy/parent team
     3. Most Unusual Car
     4. Most Colorful Car
We will also have a separate race for siblings and family members, with prizes for first, second, and third place.
Bring you money.  We will have a concession stand with food and drink for sale during the race.

The track will be set up on Monday, January 23^rd and scales to check the weight of the car.

St Mark UMC will hold it's annual Scout Sunday Worship Service on Sunday, February 13, 2012.  We encourage as many families as possible to attend this special event even if you normally attend another church.  We will need boys from the Pack to perform specific functions during this event.  More information will be provided at the January Pack Meeting.

The annual Cub Scout birth day celebration will be held on Saturday, February 25th at the Bridge at First United Methodist Church or Anniston.  Each Den will have a table theme and will decorate their table for that theme.  There will be prizes for best Center Piece and Best Place Mats.  Each dinner will also be assigned  a category of food to bring to this Pot Luck Dinner.

Pack Holds Scientist Activity Badge Class

Pack 9 holds a Webelos Scientist Activity Pin Session on Saturday, January 14, 2012.

Only five Scouts from three different dens, but as you will see from the pictures, they all had a great time.

This class will be offered again on Saturday, March 10, 2012.

The Den 2 Cobras had their final sessions on 1/22/2012.  There was a marked increase in each boy's understanding of tool use and shop skills over the three week period.  They all agree that they learned a lot and had fun!

The Den's projects will be on display at the January Pack Meeting.
