A
Brief History of
Pack 9 . . .
Pack 9 has a long history of operation
with different charter organizations in the Anniston area. The
Pack was last established at Saint Mark United Methodist Church
in the Fall of 1980. The current Pack was formed by a group of
parents who believed strongly in the ideals and goals of the
Scouting Program and wanted to see a Pack established in the
Golden Springs area. From the very beginning, Pack 9 has
provided a quality program to its boys, emphasizing family
involvement in a varied program. As Pack 9 continued to
strengthen its Cub Scout Program a decision was made to
establish a Boy Scout Troop at Saint Mark United Methodist
Church. This happened in 1989, with the transfer of Troop 9 to
Saint Mark. Those of us who are currently part of Pack 9 feel
that we are continuing the tradition of providing a quality
program to our youth members, offering a wide variety of
activities drawn from the contents of the Cub Scouting Program.
Saint Mark United Methodist, from the
very beginning, has been a strong supporter of the Scouting
Program. They have continued to provide us with a place to meet,
quality leadership, and assistance in presenting the God and
Country program for those boys who wish to participate.
Pack 9 is a part of the Saint Mark
family, but we welcome Scouts and families of all faiths into
our program.
We feel that Pack 9 has one of the
finest Cub Scouting programs to offer anywhere in the Anniston
area. We consistently earn the Quality Unit Award each year. We
hope that you will decide to become a member of our Scouting
family. It is a decision you will not regret.
When and Where We Meet . . .
Pack 9 holds its scheduled meetings on
Monday nights, September through May, at Saint Mark United
Methodist Church. Meetings start at 6:30 PM and last about 1
hour for Den Meetings and 1 ½ hours for Pack Meetings. |
